Rooted in Experience – With Heart and Purpose Vital Horizons™ is a nonprofit initiative connecting international patients with trusted healthcare, wellness retreats, and recovery-friendly resorts in the Philippines. Our mission is simple yet impactful: to make healing more human, accessible, and restorative. Our story begins over 30 years ago, when founder Saskia van Dijk first arrived in the Philippines. Since 1992, she has built deep personal and professional ties to the country, co-founding her first company in Manila in 2005, later expanding to Cebu and Kuala Lumpur. Together with her children, Sarina and Kai, both alumni of Cebu International School and dual Dutch-Filipino citizens, she lived and worked across Makati, Santa Mesa, Cebu, and Antique. In 2008, Saskia co-founded the Let Us Care Foundation in San Jose, Antique—a center dedicated to the rehabilitation of abused and neglected girls. This experience shaped the values that now drive Vital Horizons: dignity, compassion, and purpose-driven healing. Today, Vital Horizons Foundation is based in the Netherlands, but our mission is global. We collaborate with accredited hospitals, clinics, and wellness resorts to create ethical medical travel experiences that integrate clinical excellence with tropical recovery. Governance & Local Presence Vital Horizons™ operates as a Dutch nonprofit foundation (Stichting Vital Horizons Foundation) and is in the process of launching a Philippine-based corporation to support long-term partnerships. We combine European transparency with deep local roots — and 10% of all proceeds support social wellness projects in the Philippines.
